If somebody riles them…

The year was 1324. Some citizens of the English city of Coventry in the delightful county of Warwickshire had suffered at the hands of a local prior, who had a lot of clout due to his pals being administrators (dispensers) of King Edward II.

The prior, being fond of money, extracted all he could from these citizens, not to mention giving them horrible grief when they tried to resist what can only be described as extortion.

In the end, they’d had enough.

It was time for revenge…

So the oppressed citizens sought the assistance of a well-known conjurer (sorcerer) in the area — one Master John of Nottingham, along with his trusty assistance Robert Marshall of Leicester.

The citizens told the two they wanted not just the death of the prior, but also the demise of the two administrators and even the King himself!

A tall order perhaps.

But John of Nottingham and Robert Marshall got to it.

They made images of the targets out of wax and canvas, sculpting them to fit the appearance of the victims.

Before unleashing the hex they had been commissioned to do, however, they decided to do a test run of the death-hex.

For some reason the target they selected was one Richard de Lowe, who according to the historical records appeared uninvolved with the oppression of the local citizens.

Clearly neither conjurer was concerned about “collateral damage”!

They welcomed the idea.

Once the test-hex was in place, the two adjourned to an old ruined house outside Coventry, where they continued working on the main targets of the hex-work.

A day or so later, Master John gave Robert a sharp-pointed branch and told him to thrust it into the forehead of the image that represented Richard de Lowe, the test case.

The very next day, Master John sent his servant to Lowe’s house to inquire after his condition.

Apparently Lowe had been found screaming and had completely lost his memory.

Some days later, Master John removed the pointed branch from the forehead of the image of Lowe, then thrust it into the heart. Not long afterwards the unfortunate Lowe died.

Master John ended up in court over it — seemingly because his assistant Robert had shopped him to the authorities. In the end, after several adjournments, the judges gave up on the case.

Had it been a hundred or so years later, during the time of the witch-hunts, it’s likely Master John would have met an untimely end. But in the 14th century, they simply didn’t know what to do with the case.

Things had gone from bad to worse in his life.

Jealousy is certainly a common trait in Earth Bipeds (humans).

And sometimes it’s not calculated, deliberate witchcraft.
Purely the deep, unconscious negativity a person exudes.

Either way, the result is the same.

The thing to remember is you exude negativity too — as a result of fear that you’ve been hexed and have lost control of your life.

If you allow those thoughts to take over your mind/body system, then ironically you end up working against yourself.

Shooting yourself in the foot at every turn.

You’ve essentially turned yourself over to the person that has either directly hexed you, or to the negativity (jealousy) they are exuding.

How do you remove the hex?

The simple answer is to exert dominant will. But that would likely take me two or more years to train you in — and I have a selection process for suitable candidates. The truth is not everyone can do dominant will, let along grasp the process.

My Thoughts

That was what I said to Tarquino. But on a general note, the notion of the hex or curse tells you a lot. Especially if you look back historically.

For example, the Druids in Celtic times were an elite caste. They laid down the law, conducted rites, and structured society.

One law was against “satire.”

You might think this absurd, given that we have many satirical shows in modern times.

But for the Druids satire was a curse.

Obviously they were authoritarian and basically ran a control system.

When you think about it satire is actually a curse because it makes fun of authority figures and also celebrities, who, despite their typically tacky nature, are essentially the best modernity can offer in terms of gods and goddesses.

In many respects, satire defines them.

Obviously I’m all for satire levelled at such people.

In terms of many politicians, they are getting off lightly when portrayed satirically.

Looking at this more deeply we see how thoughts (and internal imaging) shapes reality.

So in a sense, despite the Druidic control system, you can see that they were intent on controlling people’s thoughts.

Why?

Because they shape society.

In contemporary times, we have nearly nine billion people shaping reality.

En masse they’ve shaped the world we see.

And that’s everybody from the elite classes down to the most humblest.

Obviously the elite classes wield more power in the world due to their monumental wealth.

But never forget you are also shaping the society you are a part of.

PRELIMINARY NOTE

Certain texts have been written in such a way that their meaning cannot be received all at once.

This is one of them.

It may be read as a story.

It may be read as satire.

Or it may be read as a record of certain observations regarding the behaviour of the human organism.

The choice, as always, rests with the reader.

It’s a delightful old day, I have to say. Spring sunshine. Gentle breeze. Scent of wild roses and honeysuckle. England at its finest—one of the few places on this planet that occasionally justifies its continued existence.

I come to Earth every now and then. The “nows” and “thens” can be a fair while in Earth terms—currently 123 years. So I’ve seen local time pass from bakelite phones to Facebook. The Boer War (which really was a bore) to the brink of nuclear extinction—not a bad thing in fact, but it’s the animals I’m concerned about.

Anyway, this morning I shall make the most of the day. I’m over at Weeting in Norfolk, heading on foot across country to the “Twin Mounds” for a conference of the cats—or as my feline friends call it, “konference of the katz” (I suspect too much exposure to 2Pac).

Back in medieval times, demon Duke Barbatos was called upon to help unearth buried treasure — in those days you had to bury or conceal your wealth to keep it safe.

They’re more like the old days.

And as I write this, it’s got me thinking I need to figure out a working that will act like a “force field” around your crypto wallet, be it on a USB or whatever.

Let’s stick with pulling unexpected windfalls from whatever “channels” may be be available in your own personal eco-stream.

Basically cash out-of-the-blue.

OK a long-shot.

But the game is about being open to revenue coming from wherever it may.

See it as “plug and play”.

That way, if there’s something out there, it will come to you.

My game-play…

In my dealings with Barbatos I typically head out into the wilds of Suffolk to one of the many medieval churches. I favour the disused ones, often somewhat ruined.

This usually demands a trek of a mile or more along country paths.

But usually there’s nobody about — save for ramblers on a Sunday. So it’s better to drift over of a weekday evening.

Nowadays I use my Symbolic Machine method for the evocation. It’s a simple device, no power source needed as this is “weird tech” — or in truth archaic.

I set that up with my intention and channel to Barbatos, along with integers that are like a circuit board to detail the “flow.”

Plus the critical on/off switch to set mind-states — much faster than the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. You’re looking at seconds.

Then it’s a question of getting to it, usually in some level of visionary trance. And the interaction is very much like lucid dreaming. Sometimes very vivid and “real”, other times more misty… happening, but between worlds.

The depiction of Barbatos above, generated by AI, is very much how Suffolk becomes to me in visionary states. Him being part English gentleman and vagabond.

It’s very much like a parallel reality, one I go to in actual lucid dreams now and then.

I could get into quantum mechanics to explain it in some way. In the end, I’m about “just do it.” When I do come up with models to fit the experience it just goes nowhere. Nothing will ever be true, and never was. Best to simply experience and take action when required.

And often when I’m out in the wilds of Suffolk, I’ll see luminous orbs or UFOs (same thing). But that’s always been the case. Back before scientism took over as the state religion, ordinary country folk around here (and all over the British Isles) were encountering or dealing with the Fae.

It was a part of life.

It could be tricky or even dangerous.

People, adults and children, would sometimes be abducted, never to be seen again (just like the UFOs do). Or you’d make deals with them for riches or whatever your wishes were.

Plus there was always the Faustian Pact if you wanted to up the ante and get into hardcore game-play.

That was the norm.

And the old world has not gone away…

For me, I don’t muck about.

I regularly use a modernised version of the Ars Goetia — evoking one or more of the 72 demons.

To me it’s an archaic technology.

Thus I use my “Symbolic Machine” methods as it’s faster than spending six months preparing to call upon a given demon. Plus you don’t need the robes and incenses. Though of course anything that brings a conducive atmosphere is worth doing — hence I’ll often to to disused medieval churches on the coast at twilight or midnight.

Of course, not everyone is partial to working with demons — or they find the idea terrifying.

But for me I prefer the idea of having something serious under the hood — like a V8 engine.

That said, I’ve been in this game for years, going back to being around fourteen, and you could say before that in terms of anomalous experiences including UFOs and astral projection.

Another common situation there.
You aren’t alone.
I’ve come across this kind of thing for years.

The game-play is two fold:
You need to block her negative energies, especially when around her.

Put up a psychic shield.
Do it once, then boost as necessary.

First off, relax your whole body.
Breathe in, then slowly out.

Cast your attention from head to toes.
You might feel a warm “buzz”.
That’s good.

Next you bring down light from above.
Let it flow through your body.

Then see/feel it expanding around you.
It’s like bolstering your etheric body.

This forms a “force field”.

So when you next see your antagonist, you won’t be impacted by her. You’ll stay calm and won’t be so easily ruffled.

That’s the strategic part.
Being able to stay calm around an antagonist.

Plus the psychic shield will stop her negativity transferring to you.

Now, if you want me to help my end, I can do a Distance Influence working to back her off, to nudge her attention away from you.

Because the funny thing is, if you can deflect an antagonist they’ll find other “fish to fry,” as they say.

If she still plays up I can always boost the Distance Influence to be more of a “shot across the bows”. Giving her a “slap” as people say here in Britain.

It’s basically a form of witchcraft, but mostly driven by Psi methods. Empty hand and quicker.

It’s really all about how malicious somebody is.
And some people can certainly be that.

Almost like they are possessed…

Often that is just some part of themselves, which grew out of past trauma or abuse.

But sometimes, well… one sees the activities of the unseen, call them UltraTerrestrials or spirits, it doesn’t matter.

Because, remember, we are just over three hundred years into the sci-tech world, but before that the science was magick, going back countless aeons.

Planet Earth remains haunted by denizens that live here, but somehow in parallel to our plane. And it’s on record how technology has been manipulated by these non-human intelligences — just one example is nuclear missile silos being turned on or off… with a luminous orb hovering nearby…

Things are going from bad to worse.

What you describe is very common.
You aren’t alone.

But it’s no surprise that the rich are getting richer.
Thing is, who will buy their stuff if no one has money?

Anyway, the first thing is to stay calm.
Keep your mind/body system in control.

Not easy.

BUT: the calmer you are, the better able you are to operate.

Now let’s get proactive…

Once you can keep your system calm — or basically aren’t freaking out — then you can use Psi methods to nudge things in your favour.

Can be money or whatever you immediately need.

Ideally you need the full tool-set — like ability to control breath (pranayama) and to stop internal dialogue.

This is the “carrier wave” for Psi — or the magickal current.

But once you are in the “operator” mindset you are good to go.

The game at this point is to go into visionary trance and either go into the astral and conduct a working there… or create an “energy ball” encapsulating your intent, then pushing it out as a kind of “crescendo” driven by emotion, which is the fuel.

When done you’d turn off the emotion.

And actually one other very powerful method is to create a Symbolic Machine for sigil magick. And you can build in an on/off switch for your mind-states.

The on/off switch is a modern version of the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram.

Saves a lot of effort and works in a couple of seconds.

If your operation involves using daemonic forces via a Symbolic Machine, then the on/off switch is pretty critical.

All ways round, though, it’s good to be able to shift between mind-states — including in life in general.

Equally I’d say just do things your way.

But definitely learn to still internal dialogue and create your own on/off switch for mind-states.

In the end, I can’t predict where the world is going.
It doesn’t look good.

But… there may well be a Black Swan on the horizon that totally disrupts the elites gambit for totalitarian control.

It was a delightful evening at Dunwich. Wind coming off the North Sea, not cold, just insistent. Enough to strip the noise out of your head if you let it.

I had the plate on the passenger seat.

Card stock. Octagon. Nothing fancy.
The sort of thing you could mistake for a child’s geometry exercise.

Which, in fairness, most people would.

The switch was still OFF.

That matters.

People skip that part. They think it’s theatre. It isn’t.

It’s the difference between addressing something… and being addressed back.

“Go on then,” I said, mostly to myself. “Let’s see if you’re in a conversational mood.”

No candles. No Latin. No theatrics.

Just the machine.

The Kernel took about thirty seconds.

Not a name. Not his name. That would be vulgar.

More like a compression of qualities:

clarity, leverage, refusal to kneel

Strip the vowels. Break the symmetry. Tighten it until it looked like it might cut you if you stared too long.

That’s when you know it’s ready.

I traced the switch.

OFF ——

—— ON

Nothing happened.

Which is exactly what you want.

Hand over the Contact Surface.

Light touch. Barely there.

You don’t move your fingers.

You let them be moved.

That’s the trick no one tells you.

There was resistance.

Not physical. Not quite.

Like pressing against the memory of pressure.

Subtle.

But definite.

“Alright,” I said. “We’ll keep this civil.”

The double vector sat between me and the Triangle.

Radio. Engine. Gravel under tyres.

Normality, restored on schedule.

The call came the next morning.

Unplanned. High-level. Slightly out of character.

The sort of opportunity that usually requires three meetings and a favour owed.

This one… didn’t.

“Funny thing,” the voice said. “Your name came up. Felt like the right fit.”

Of course it did.

I made a note in the margin of the plate:

Let it breathe.

And underneath that:

The downward arrow is not optional.

Somewhere between Suffolk and whatever sits behind it,
something had leaned in slightly.

Not summoned.

Not commanded.

Just… interested.

If Lilith is found out on the mound — wind in the ears, time dissolving slightly at the edges — then Sophia, I find, prefers a table.

Preferably one that is clean. Properly set. With a view of something old and faintly ruined.

In this case, the courtyard of Bigod Cafe, with the remains of Bigod Castle keeping a quiet, watchful eye over proceedings.

It is, I must say, an establishment of a certain decorum.

No frantic laptop tapping. No theatrical self-display. No desperate attempts at relevance.

A clientele that has, for the most part, accepted its position in the grand arrangement of things — or at least learned how to sit comfortably within it.

Retired professionals. The quietly solvent. The occasional artisan presence, expressed through linen and muted confidence.

And, from time to time, myself — renegade element that I am — meeting my daughters.

It’s a quiet old evening on the old lanes of Norfolk. Very few metal-beasts churning out fumes and impatience — their operators fixated on destination, not journey.

A foot in the old world.
Ideal place and time to sort out a ritual for Nosaji.

Titles matter in this game.

Bune, of course, is a “force” that can be evoked to help with pecuniary matters.

Coming in whatever form it might take.

More importantly he needs to break the pattern of lack.
To dismantle the “stuck situation.”

He’s formulated a real-world plan too.
This working will back that up.

Time to climb the farm gate and head across the fields towards the setting sun and to the spinney.

Location is key when it comes to dealing with “forces” and utilising their power in the everyday world.

At a pinch — and if needs must, and the Devil drives — then you can do it in your local McDonalds or Greggs.

No need to cause a commotion.
You can keep it all empty hand.

Here we are, at the spinney, sun rays now only just discernible as the Earth turns.

It is one of the quieter advantages of living in Suffolk that one may, at almost any moment, abandon the present century.

One simply steps out.

A short drive. A narrow lane. A place where the hedgerows lean in slightly, as if listening.

And before long, the signal begins to change.

You can do this elsewhere, of course. The old centres still hum faintly across the world — from the Balkans through to Anatolia, and down into those more troubled regions where history has become… rather too active again. In such places, if one is inclined to wander with intent, something in the internal apparatus begins to respond.

A loosening.

A shift in perception.

Rather like hearing a minor key played on a long-necked lute — the old Saz — where the note seems less performed than remembered.

But let us remain in Suffolk.

The Redeployment Hypothesis

In earlier pieces, we reframed the self as a pattern of information.

Not a mystical vapour.

A structure.

Something that can, at least in principle, survive changes in the hardware it runs on.

If that holds—even partially—then reincarnation stops being mystical and becomes something else entirely.

Not rebirth.

But:

redeployment.

From Shutdown to Reinstall

In any system, processes don’t simply vanish.

They can be:

• archived

• copied

• modified

• redeployed

Sometimes immediately.
Sometimes after delay.
Sometimes in altered form.

So instead of asking:

“Do we live again?”

We ask:

Does the pattern get re-instantiated?

Why It Wouldn’t Be Clean

If this process exists, it wouldn’t look like the stories.

No waking up with full memory.
No neat continuity of identity.

Because that would require:

• perfect data integrity

• identical runtime conditions

• uninterrupted transmission

That’s not how complex systems behave.

Instead, you’d expect:

• partial carryover

• distortion

• fragmentation

Not identity.

Echoes of identity.

The Strange Reports

Now look at what people actually report:

• children describing “past lives” in unusual detail

• sudden, untrained abilities

• irrational fears with no clear origin

• immediate affinity for places never visited

Most of this is dismissed.

Fair enough.

But within this model, they take on a different shape:

Fragments of pattern… surviving redeployment.

Not proof.

But not easily dismissed either.

Karma, Rewritten

Karma is often framed as moral bookkeeping.

Do good → rewarded.
Do bad → punished.

But that always felt… crude.

Ghosts have always been described in the wrong language.

Chains. Shadows. Figures at the end of the bed.

The problem is not that these reports are false. It’s that the framework used to explain them is outdated—Victorian, theatrical, overly human.

So let’s try a different model.

Not spirit.

Not soul.

But process.

The Residue Hypothesis

In the previous piece, we explored the idea that the self may be less like a “thing” and more like a pattern of information—a structured configuration running on biological hardware.

If that holds—even partially—then death becomes less about disappearance and more about what happens to the pattern.

Does it terminate cleanly?

Does it transfer?

Or does something remain?

Processes That Don’t Shut Down

In computing, not every process ends properly.

You get fragments.
Loops.
Memory residue.

Sometimes a system carries traces of what once ran inside it—ghosts, in a purely technical sense.

Now apply that idea—not literally, but structurally—to human experience.

What if certain environments retain imprints of intense patterns?

Your system may be detecting pattern anomalies.

We might ask:

Do systems leave traces of their activity?

Because every system we understand—biological, digital, mechanical—does exactly that.

It leaves marks.

Residuals.

Just observe:

The question is not what you feel in the moment.

It’s this:

What repeats?

None of this is established science.
