They lived here 30,000 years ago... as the modern world crumbles, I muse on how past peoples were more advanced than us - and this has been covered up purposely or inadvertently...
A really interesting video.Part of the problem maybe that the very concept of "religion" is problematic to say the least. The word covers a certain degree of views and activities, all of which do not apply to all "religions". I saw an interesting video on Youtube lately by the owner of Crescent City Conjure on the origins of Hoodoo, including the use of the bible as a spellbook. Several of the healings Jesus performed are similar to those of contemporary healers, and can seem sharmanic at times. Oh and by the way, the word you were looking for is aspergillum, which is used to sprinkle holy water. Typical hurry making up my account, I am of course Charles!!!
Ah yes, you got the word I was looking for. When doing videos it's surprising how much you don't have to hand - they're riffed rather than set pieces. Yes, the term religion is too much of a label - categorizing, which is useful, but at the same time homogenizing. Take what I was talking about, Northern European heathenism... there were lots of tribes, from Angles and Jutes, to Saxons and Goths. Huge amounts more. England was named after the Angles. Yes, they had a common language, but dialects would have been very different. A common mythos, but again, lots of variations. Nowadays, homogeneity is rife... unsurprising given technology... you tend to do information management on many levels, so you have to categorize.
