More On Summoning Demons...
Working with demons is not as dark as it's painted... in truth, it's a very powerful form or magick, which can both bring results and empowerment, along with transforming our consciousness.
Let's face it, summoning demons, sounds pretty scary, not to mention diabolic, but it does get the job done. Such practices may also sound medieval, something confined to past centuries.
For me, that's not the case. I see demonology as a living practice, one that can - and arguably should - develop with the times.
One thing is for sure, if the magus himself (or the female equivalent) doesn't move with the times, the demons most assuredly will...
They take on many forms - and always did. So they will often mirror the age we are in. during the 1980s, for example, they merrily took on the form of UFOnauts, greys and reptilians. Or at least the lesser demons did, many of them being of a trickster nature.
The Dukes, Prime Ministers and Marquises of the demonic host tend to be above that kind of thing - unless it has some higher purpose.

Aren't demons evil?
Well, as Jesus himself reportedly said, "Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?" (Matthew 7:3). In other words, humans are hardly saints; look at the state of the world, the wars and oppression, along with the way people often treat each other generally. Not everybody, of course. But a fair few.
One can admonish demons, but mostly they are in their own realm and don't bother with us, unless, of course, we call upon them and make a deal for their assistance on some matter or other.
Whatever the church may say, humans tend to cause enough trouble for themselves without demons getting involved.
Another way of looking at demons...
This is the psychological model, that demons are aspects of ourselves, perhaps inhabiting our "shadow side", which might be seen as the parts of our unconscious mind that we prefer to keep hidden. Equally, by bringing certain "inner demons" to light, we can empower ourselves, finding hidden strengths and abilities, or perhaps attain wealth and success. We might, for example, unleash the sheer drive and determination we need to achieve our ambitions in life.
This model is about demons being part of our psyche that we can bring out. If we are somewhat meek in life, we can become dominant. If we are something of a "wall flower" we might gain confidence and gregariousness.
Demon Summoning: Harness The World-Shattering Power Of Infernal Spirits
It’s pro-active magick. If you need to get something done in the world, or to improve your life in some way, we will call upon one of the 72 demons from the Ars Goetia. Discover more at:

As for me, I see demon summoning as a form of technology...
Think about it. The 72 demons from the Ars Goetia manuscripts each have a sigil associated with them. Very unique and compelling sigils too. You could see this as programming code - or like a computer "daemon" running in the background that gets tasks done.
Whether the demons are independent entities or parts of our psyche doesn't matter with this model. You're utilizing a form of mind or other-realm reality that works.
Plus, with this idea, demons as technology, you cut out the religious aspects. The old manuscripts recommended very protracted and involved rituals, which call on God and angels for protection... plus various circles to keep the demons from possessing or overshadowing you.
For me, that was the past, this is now. So we can have a relationship with demons which is based on equality. Sure, there has to be something in it for them. You need to give them a gift or offering. Depending on the demon, it could be pain - your own, not somebody else's, and definitely not an animal. Giving something up for a week. Or hunger, don't eat all day. Or sexual abstinence for a period of time.
Even this could be seen on a psychological level…
Some people think there's a balance that needs to be maintained and if you make changes in the world around you, which may involve other people, then there's a price to pay. If nothing else, this would appease the subconscious mind, which can worry that something bad will happen because you used magick and demons to alter aspects of the reality around you.
Or if you take demons as entities, then it's simply a value exchange; you petition their help and make a payment for it.
Summing up
All in all, it doesn’t matter which model you choose, working with demons is a very powerful form of magick - either of the results variety or of transformation of consciousness, the latter being something I personally favor, as I’ve always been driven to explore the nature of reality and that of our psyches.
Agree with you.
