There was a system moving through North London in the late 80s and early 90s.
It came wrapped in myth, street language, and certainty.
Most people heard the surface.
A few recognised the underlying pattern.
I was playing in bands around Tottenham at the time—rehearsal rooms, long nights, conversations that drifted from music into philosophy, identity, power. I found myself talking with Rastafarians, Five Percenters, and others running their own frameworks of reality.
They were surprised I was interested.
But they recognised something—
not belief… but alignment.
Because underneath the language, I was already circling the same idea:
Be your own god.
Not as ego.
As control.
