🔮 THE RED WITCH READING #16: When Spirits Speak Too Loudly
From Doktor Snake:
This reading comes from Jo McManners, 48, living in Sussex.
Jo is a working medium within a spiritualist church.
She doesn’t charge.
She sees her work as service.
But recently something has gone wrong.
An unruly presence came through during a sitting —
and never left.
It comments on her life.
Speaks when she’s shopping in Aldi.
Interrupts her thoughts.
Her spiritualist friends have tried to help.
Nothing has worked.
She comes to me reluctantly —
seeing me as “dark side.”
Yet desperation overrides judgement.
The Red Witch Speaks:
“Not every voice from beyond is a spirit.
Some are echoes of what has not been faced.”
She points gently toward Jo’s past.
A marriage marked by betrayal.
A husband who humiliated and hurt her emotionally.
Ten years divorced — but never fully processed.
She sought meaning in spiritualism.
Found purpose.
But the emotional wound remained.
“Unresolved pain seeks a language,” the Red Witch says.
“Sometimes it borrows the voice of spirits.”
This doesn’t mean Jo is imagining everything.
It means her sensitivity is amplifying unintegrated trauma.
The “spirit” feeds on attention.
On fear.
On the idea that she is powerless.
🜂 The Practice — “Return to the Body”
Each time the voice appears:
Stop.
Feel both feet on the ground.
Name three physical objects you can see.
Take one slow breath and say silently:
“I am here. I am safe. This is my mind.”
This reclaims authority.
The Red Witch also advises Jo to take a break from mediumship for a time.
Not as failure — but as healing.
🜃 Reflection
Spiritual sensitivity without grounding becomes vulnerability.
Jo’s gift is real — but so is her need for emotional repair.
The Red Witch does not banish spirits.
She restores sovereignty.
When Jo becomes fully present in her own life again,
the voice will fade — because it will no longer have anywhere to anchor.

This framing of unprocessed emotional wounds borrowing spiritual language is really sharp. I went thru something similiar years back where what felt like external interference was actually my nervous system amplifying old stuff I hadn't dealt with. The grounding practice around reclaiming authority seems way more empowring than just trying to banish something.
