I’ve spent most of my life wandering around the edges of things.
Officially, I’m an author and journalist. My work has appeared in The Independent, Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph, Financial Times, and other publications. I’ve written books for Random House, St Martin’s Press, Orion, and John Blake.
Unofficially, I’ve spent decades investigating stranger territory.
Consciousness. Chaos magick. Dreams. Folklore. Coincidences. AI. UFOs. The paranormal. Human perception. Ancient places. Modern myths. The curious machinery of belief.
I’ve never been especially interested in collecting answers.
I’ve always preferred running experiments.
What happens if you treat coincidence as information?
Can you deliberately cultivate synchronicity?
What happens when you use a sigil, incubate a dream, follow an apparently meaningless sign, enter meditative silence, consult an oracle, walk through a landscape as though it’s communicating with you — or enlist a demon to help you win the lottery?
Maybe nothing.
That’s useful information too.
This publication is where I share the results.
Some posts begin on a country lane in Suffolk. Others start in a café, an old churchyard, a Bronze Age mound, a train station, a dream, a book, or a conversation that refuses to leave me alone.

Some of these experiments are simple. Others venture considerably further out.
The free posts contain stories, field reports, ideas and occasional methods.
Paid subscribers get the deeper practical material — detailed experiments and protocols involving sigils, probability, synchronicity, divination, dream work, consciousness, servitors, glamour, money magick and whatever else looks interesting enough to test.
Over time, the archive is becoming something I rather like the idea of:
A modern chaos-magick working manual disguised as a Substack.
You don’t need to believe any of it.
In fact, I’d prefer you didn’t.
Run the experiment.
Record what happens.
Keep what works.
Discard what doesn’t.
And always remember the standing Doktor Snake rule:
DON’T BECOME AN IDIOT.
