Investing is a funny old game, it's all about trying to predict the future sort of like a psychic would, but also looking at hard data even the word on the street and also ones gut instinct.
Future trends is also something to delve deep into. What's the next big investment? Perhaps AI startups? Androids? Asteroid mining? Driverless Cars? Artificial meat?
Then there's things that are mostly stable, land and and property followed by gold, silver, rare minerals for use in computer chips and sim cards.
Another investment is whiskey, art too. Antiques. What witg everything going online I personally feel that old first edition books in good condition will keep going up in value and be a great long term investment say 20/ thirty years.
I used to buy the penny stocks myself many years ago with some mates just for fun.
I suppose Investing is a bit like gambling only put down what you are willing to lose but with the right research and some luck can pay quite well. Its also knowing when to sell and when not to.
Crypto is still the new frontier, definitely makes sense to have a look especially with Monero which as you say is decentralised.
I used to find looking at the share prices and seeing how the market moved quite exciting.
With AI it's iffy... I know Venture Capital people funding startups... the idea being grab the money over two years, then bail out. We're in an AI bubble. That said I'm very keen on Perplexity AI... will drop ChatGPT and go with that.
Everything is a gamble today, all moving very fast. So you have to be on it all 24/7. Cannabis Coins interests me as that's a huge growth sector, plus I know people in that, cannabis farmers and so on. They've got no choice but to go crypto as traditional banks eschew them... that's down to regulations not "ethics".
On every level, crypto and blockchain tech is the way to go. But to think around it, not drop tons of money into it directly. Ask what is going on around the fringes... like hemp agriculture, what systems are needed... again, traditional tech doesn't work so well for them... hence blockchains dedicated to that sector is what to look at.
I just find it all interesting. Tech advances won't go away, which is what Tony Blair said in the excellent BBC interview. He referred to a lot of stuff in that talk. Investment wise, look at digital IDs... hated by conspiracy people... but they don't seem to understand technology... sure it can be used nefariously, but again, it won't go away, so push for legitimate regulations... and look at history, the Industrial Revolution... it took time to get that stable and not exploitative.
I will have to zone out on the science of this...thanks Dok
