Earlier today, as the shadows stretched across the minimalist pavements of Cambridge Science Park, I took a walk through the cryptic landscape of Silicon Fen. The area around Cambridge North is sterile at first glance — steel, glass, and grids — but beneath it hums a quiet storm of future tech: quantum startups, AI labs, biotech ghostworks.
I wandered the zone with camera in hand, reflecting on how these places — clean and liminal—feel like interzones. They’re spaces that don’t quite belong to the past or the future. They attract outsiders. And somehow, being in them dissolves the social rules of elsewhere.
This video captures that drift. A ritual walk. Some thoughts on quantum computing, virtual reality, and why we might already be inside the machine... only now becoming aware of the code.

Out on the roads again… broadcasting from “a forgotten lane near a Neolithic mound,” or “somewhere on the Suffolk backroads”.
I fire up the Substack Live app with zero notice — because that’s how wyrd moves. A few tune in. Spirits stir. Riffs flow.
